Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that striker Olivier Giroud has
improved significantly since he joined the club in 2012 from Montpellier.
The French international has scored
five goals in his last six Premier League appearances since returning from
injury and Wenger is delighted with his progress.
Wenger told Arsenal Player: “He’s
much more focused, technically he has improved, his feet have improved, his
movement has improved and he has a big presence in the game.
“It’s no coincidence that when he
comes back, you feel strong.
The 28-year old was on target last
weekend in Arsenal’s 5-0 demolition of Aston Villa but didn’t finish the match
after being kicked.
However Wenger has confirmed his
substitution was more of a precautionary measure ahead of their mouth watering
North London derby with Tottenham on Saturday at White Hart Lane.
He added: “He got a kick during the
game and I was a bit cautious with him.
"We could give another
opportunity to Chuba Akpom and he has shown that he has quality when he comes
on as well.
"[Chuba] looks dangerous and you
can see that he will score goals."
