Arsenal have been dealt hammer blow ahead of Saturday’s North
London derby after talisman Alexis Sanchez was ruled out with hamstring strain.
The Chilean magician has been in
scintillating form for the Gunners since his big money move from FC Barcelona
in the summer having scored an impressive 18 goals in all competitions.
Sanchez missed out Arsenal’s 5-0
hammering of Aston Villa last weekend and was expected to be fit for the North
London derby but manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed the diminutive but lethal
attacker won’t be ready for the trip to White Hart Lane.
Wenger said: "The latest is that
Alexis is not ready. He is not far away, the Leicester game is a possibility.
"He is of course very difficult
to keep quiet! He is training but it's light training."
Arsenal are currently fifth on the
Premier League table, 11 points behind leaders Chelsea with 15 matches to play.
