Man Utd vs. Arsenal preview: Will the Red Devils continue dominance over the Gunners?

Written By MWAYANGASPORTS on Sunday, 8 March 2015 | 15:48

The two most successful teams in the history of the  FA Cup will go head-to-head on Monday night at Old Trafford for a place in the semi-final and a trip to Wembley.

Arsenal are gunning to defend the title they won last season by beating Hull City 3-2 at Wembley while the Red Devils are out to end their 11-year wait for the famous trophy.

The FA Cup remains the only competition both teams have a good chance of winning this season although Arsenal are still in the Champions League where they need a miracle to overcome the 3-2 home defeat to Monaco to advance to the quarter finals.

Arsenal have played second fiddle to United in recent times having won just one out of 12 meetings with the Red Devils.

Team News:

Louis van Gaal has a full house to select from save for striker Robin van Persie, who was in the Arsenal side that beat United in the 2005 FA Cup final on penalties and defender Jonny Evans, who is serving six match ban for a allegedly spitting on a opponent.

On the other hand, Arsenal will make do without Gabriel Paulista (hamstring), Jack Wilshere (Knee) Mikel Arteta (ankle) but welcome Aaron Ramsey back.

The spotlight will be certainly on Danny Welbeck who is making his return to Old Trafford for the first time since leaving United for Arsenal, last summer, in £16m deal.
