Manchester United great Paul Scholes is impressed by Chelsea’s January
transfer business.
The Blues and Champions Manchester
City were the only top teams to spend significantly with the signings of Juan
Cuadrado and Wilfried Bony respectively.
However, Chelsea were the biggest
winners as they cashed in on Andre Schurrle and Ryan Bertrand while Mohamed
Salah joined Fiorentina on loan.
On top of that, Chelsea are reported
to have made a profit in the region of £7m from the deals.
Scholes told The Independent:
"There were not many surprises this time around and as usual it looks like
Chelsea have done the best business.
"They seem to be clinical about
it these days. You knew that if it was Juan Cuadrado they wanted, they would
get him."
In the summer transfer window,
Chelsea signed Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis and made a windfall
in the £50m sale of defender David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain.
